വേദ ഉപാസന വാരം Veda Upasana Vaaram Swamiye Saranamayyappa The Vedas are the divine scriptures, which are considered the foundation of Sanathana Dharma. These most ancient & vast scriptures have profoundly influenced other religions like Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. These are the sacred treasures of human development, which influenced different societies all over the world. UNESCO has recognised the tradition of Vedic chanting as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The Vedas are the vibrations of the universe. The systematic chanting of Vedic mantras in the temple purifies the spiritual atmosphere and creates divine vibrations. The power of the mantras enhances the vitality of the deity in the sanctum sanctorum, the core of the temple. This gives mental peace and tranquillity to the devotees. It is said in the scriptures that the temple prospers through different factors, such as austerities of the Priest, the chanting of Vedic mantras, the constant and systematic rituals of worship, festivals, and food offerings. All these factors together maintain the temple as a centre of energy. There is no doubt that if the temple in a place is well-established, that place and its people will become prosperous and peaceful. Mantras are the basis of all the pujas and actions we perform in our daily lives. Without mantras, there is no action. All these mantras originated from the Vedas. It is the gods who give us all the fruits, experiences, prosperity, food, peace and tranquility. We can say that they are the heart of all actions. Lord Krishna say in the Bhagavad Gita, “Yajnaam japa yajno smi...” “Vaaram” is a worship of reciting Vedic mantras in a systematic manner. When each word of the Veda is recited separately, the effect is greater than that of ordinary recitation. Even more effect is obtained when two words are recited in a “systematic manner” without missing a syllable or vowel. Wherever worship is done with the Veda, which is the Akshara Brahman, that place will be enriched with the blessings of the auspicious form of the Lord

സർപ്പ പൂജ   പൗരാണിക കാലഘട്ടം മുതൽ നിലവിലുള്ള ഒരു സംവിധാനമാണ് സർപ്പ പൂജ . നിഗ്രഹാനുഗ്രഹ ശക്തിയുള്ള സർപ്പ ശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരെയാണ് നാഗങ്ങൾ എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. പഞ്ചമി തിഥിയുടെ  ദേവതകളാണ് നാഗങ്ങൾ. അനന്തൻ വാസുകി കക്ഷകൻ കാർക്കോടകൻ ശംഖപാലൻ ഗുളികൻ മഹാപത്മൻ എന്നിവയെ അഷ്ടനാഗങ്ങൾ എന്ന് പറയുന്നു. ശേഷ നാഗം എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന അനന്തന്റെ പുറത്താണ് സാക്ഷാൽ വിഷ്ണു ഭഗവാൻ ശയിക്കുന്നത്. രാമാവതാര കാലത്ത് ഭഗവാൻറെ അനുജനായി ജനിച്ച ലക്ഷ്മണനും കൃഷ്ണ അവതാര കാലത്ത് ഭഗവാൻറെ ജേഷ്ഠൻ ആയിരുന്ന ബലരാമദേവനും അനന്തന്റെ അവതാരങ്ങളാണ്.  ആദിയും അന്തവും ഇല്ലാത്ത പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകമായി അനന്തനെ കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. ആയിരം തലയുള്ള ആ അനന്തൻ തൻ്റെ  ശിരസ്സിൽ ഭൂമിയെ താങ്ങി നിർത്തുന്നു എന്ന് പുരാണങ്ങളിൽ പറയുന്നു.    ഇത്തരത്തിൽ നിരവധി നാഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് പുരാണങ്ങളിൽ പ്രതിപാദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ നാഗങ്ങളുടെ പത്നിമാരെ നാഗകന്യകമാരായും സങ്കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നു. അർജുനൻറെ പത്നിയായ ഉലൂചി സുന്ദരിയായ ഒരു നാഗ സ്ത്രീയായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് ഐതിഹ്യം.    സർപ്പങ്ങളുടെ നാഥനാണ് ശിവ ഭഗവാൻ. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ശിവപൂജയിലൂടെ സർപ്പങ്ങളുടെ പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കുന്നു. ശിവ ഭഗവാൻറെ കഴുത്തിലെ ആഭരണമാണ് വാസുകി എന്ന മഹാ സർപ്പം. കേരളത്തിലെ മിക്കവാറും ശിവക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ സർപ്പങ്ങളെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച്  സാന്നിധ്യപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. സർപ്പങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവാണ് വാസുകി. ദേവാസുരന്മാർ അമൃതമഥന സമയത്ത് വാസുകിയെ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് മന്ദര പർവ്വതം കൊണ്ട് പാലാഴി കടഞ്ഞത്.    പ്രകൃതി സംരക്ഷണത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകം ആയിട്ടാണ് സർപ്പാരാധനയെ കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്. അതിൻറെ ഭാഗമായി നിരവധി സർപ്പക്കാവുകളിൽ സർപ്പ പൂജകൾ നടത്തിവരുന്നു.    ആയില്യം നോമ്പുനോറ്റ് സർപ്പ പൂജ ചെയ്യുന്നത്  ശരീര സംപുഷ്ടിക്കും  വിഷ നാശനത്തിനും ത്വക് രോഗഗശമനത്തിനും ഉത്തമമാണ്.

Uthram Pooja is a Monthly celebration in our temple with special Poojas for Ayyappa Swamy with Ashtabhishekam on Uthram star of every month. Uthram is the birth star of Swami Ayyappa. Every month, Uthram Pooja is solely offered by one family. Doing sacred rituals like Uthram Pooja and Ashtabhishekam with 8 drvyas along with Namajapam and Bhajana creates a divine atmosphere in our temple and helps us to get special blessings of Swami Ayyappa.
