Late Sh. Brahmasree Vezhapparamba Parameshwaran Namboothiripad (Temple Architect) |
Born in Vezhapparamba Mana, Karumalloor, Ernakulam to a family of thantris, Shri V.B. Parameshwaran Namboothiripad brought great lory to his heritage through his life and works.
Trained via the Gurukula System, he studied Sanskrit Vyakarana (Grammar) and Literature, thantric and AGAMA literature and Vaastu Shastra.
As a thantri, he guided the conducts of several consecration ceremonies throughout India. He also supervised the renovation and construction of several temples. He was greatly consulted and his advice sought in matters relating to temples, by various courts of law.
Not only was Shri Namboothiripad a great practitioner of the ancient traditions of Thantra, Vaastu and Sanskrit but also taught the Thantrasaastra, Thachusaastra (Traditional Architecture) and Sanskrit to several disciples.
He authored several works such as the Ashwalayana Chandrika deals with the sixteen samskaras of Brahmans and a Kavyam titled Sudama Charitam, which was not yet completed. He also presented papers on Vaastu and Thantra at various seminars.
In recognitation of his work he was awarded the "Thantrasaastra Bruhaspathy" by the Thantra Vidyapitham, Aluva, Kerala.
We take pride in the fact that such a great man was the Chief Architect of Sree Dharmasaasthra Temple, Pushpvihar and this was his last and dream project.
We remember and pay our respects to his blessed life.
