Pushpvihar Ayyappa Sewa Samithi is a registered Socio-Cultural Charitable organization function in the National Capital Territory , Delhi.
Brief History of the Organization
The PUSHPVIHAR A YY APP A SEW A SAMITHI had a humble beginning with a few Ayyappa Devotees of Pushpvihar and adjoining area coming together to offer Pooja during the Mandala Season in 1995. In the following years it was decided to register the Samithi under the Societies Act in the name of PUSHPVIHAR AYYAPPA SEWA SAMITHI in order to conduct the Pooja on a grander scale.
During the inception in 1995 the Pooja, Bhajana & Poor Feeding were conducted in a garage at Sector IV Pushpvihar. But with participation of the Devotees increasing manifold with each passing year, the Samithi found it increasingly difficult to conduct Pooja in the garage. Keeping this in mind and also the enthusiasm and support of the devotees, the Samithi took initiative and requested the Ministry of Urban Development to allot a piece of land for construction of an Ayyappa Temple at Pushpvihar.
Our request was considered by the Ministry and a piece of land for the same was sanctioned at Sector VI Pushpvihar by the ministry in the year 2000.
Following this; the painstaking efforts of the Samithi and the ardent support of the devotees let to the completion of the Sreekovil (Sanctum Sanctorum) & Consecration (Prathishta) of the Lord Sree Dharma Saastha on 31 st March 2006.
